Senior Geo-Technical Engineer

Our client is a global integrated mining and metals company. An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Geo-Technical Engineer to join their team just outside of Nashville.
This is the ideal role for an FE qualified underground mining professional looking to develop their career with an exciting, international company. Joining a culture that promotes and rewards excellence, the successful candidate will work with state-of-the-art machinery and will play a key role in the success of our client's growing Tennessee mining operation.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, as a Senior Geo-Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our client's mines by monitoring ventilation control and improving underground practices.
Promoting safe on-site behavior at all times, you'll develop and update design parameters for primary ventilation and diesel particulate matter (DPM) control. Ensuring total compliance with site standards and procedures, you'll also coordinate the creation, implementation and review of mine-specific DPM control and ventilation plans.
Monitoring ground conditions and pillar locations on a regular basis, you'll coordinate annual reviews to improve drilling, blasting and scaling practices. Additionally, you'll investigate, propose and trial alternate ground control methods to improve safety, productivity and cost.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- At least two years' experience gained within the underground mining industry
- An FE qualification, ideally a PE
- A BS in mining or engineering
As a Senior Geo-Technical Engineer, you must have strong organization, time management and prioritization skills with a resourceful nature. Driven and proactive, you must also possess superb planning skills and a results-focused approach.
